College is as full of new adventures as your car is on the day you move in to your dorm. Storage.com can help you tackle your college career with helpful tips or by providing you a safe storage solution for summer breaks.
Going to college is an exciting time for students. For most, it’s their first chance to get away from home, discover areas of talent and personal passions, and chase professional dreams. The one thing that students and their parents usually aren’t excited about, however, is the cost of college.
Students and parents are well aware of the costs associated with tuition and living at school, but there are plenty of other costs that come along with college—many of them unexpected.
These “Unexpected Costs of College” are things that almost every student didn’t plan on before school started. Nevertheless, they will come to understand such costs throughout their college careers. While these expenses might provide great stories down the road—like that time you left your car in front of a parking meter for three days, or that week where you ate nothing but pizza—they’re really unfortunate circumstances for college students who are already strapped for cash.
And that’s what it all comes down to—the lack of money college students face all too often. This is where Storage.com wants to help. Through our scholarship essay contest, three students will have the chance to win $2,500 to help with school expenses. The scholarship winnings will be sent directly to the school that the winners attend to help with tuition. That way, the students can use some of the money they’ve saved up to cover those unexpected costs.
We’re incredibly excited to see all of the essay submissions and look forward to helping three students pay for the costs of school. Make sure to submit your essay before July 31st, 2014.
