According to an August survey report by Thumbtack, an online service company connecting businesses with local professionals, Colorado Springs ranked fourth among business friendliest cities. Those participating in the survey answered questions on eight key factors, which include how supportive local governments were toward small businesses as well as ease of local and state regulations.
In addition to the friendly nature, BestPlaces states that Colorado Springs job growth as positive, with an unemployment rate of 4.5%.
Millennials and The Springs get along
Earlier this year, the Brookings Institution released a report that showed Millennials are moving to Colorado Springs at a faster rate than anywhere else. The Colorado Springs Chamber of Commerce credits this attraction to the city’s unique culture, affordable cost of living, and beautiful mountain landscape.
