5 Tidbits about Spring, TX

As the saying goes, everything is bigger in Texas, including it’s metropolitan areas. In the massive Houston Metropolitan Statistical Area, there are nine counties and a whopping 124 incorporated cities. From the outside looking in, it can be easy to miss each wonderful community and city, but then you’d be doing just that: missing it.

North of Houston sits the city of Spring, a relatively small city of just over 56,000 people, but a gem of a place to live. If you’re considering relocating to the Houston MSA, then here are a few things to know and consider about Spring.

1. Enjoy all of Houston while living in Spring

One of the biggest benefits of living in a suburb city, and this is no less true with Spring. Located roughly a half an hour drive from downtown Houston, there is still plenty of benefits of the large metro, from growing economic opportunities, to the Houston nightlife.

2. Spring has old roots

The original Spring is now currently known as Old Town Spring, and despite its name, it still has plenty of ways to keep things fresh. It now offers 200 boutiques and shops and hosts popular festivals throughout the year.

3. Even Spring has a number of neighborhoods

Remember: everything is bigger in Texas, even the suburb towns. Spring has 30 distinct neighborhoods for its residents to pick and choose, from the small neighborhood of Stone Forest, to gated communities like Lakes of Cypress Forest, and established areas like Spring Creek Forest. Check them all out for yourself by clicking here.

4. Beat the heat at Hurricane Harbor Splashtown

Spring is home to Six Flags’ Hurricane Harbor Splashtown. As most Six Flags parks go, there are dozens of watery rides for you and the whole family to enjoy, from the kids Coconut Bay to the Big Spin, a massive funnel-shaped waterslide that is guaranteed to get you wet.

5. Enjoy the local fare in Spring

We know we mentioned the proximity to Houston, but Spring makes it easy to enjoy the local options when you don’t want to drive far. Find favorite hotspots such as The Black Sheep Bistro, located in Old Town Spring, and its new American flavors or try The Omega Grill for a more southern-style night out.

These are just a few things that make Spring stand out, and we recommend you see it for yourself and share what you love most about Spring.
