Compass Self Storage (CSS) is making a deeper footprint in the Nashville market. The brand is a member of the Amsdell family of companies and recently announced the acquisition of its newest facility at 1703 Green Ln. in Shelbyville, Tenn. This addition marks CSS’ fifth location near the city.
This announcement comes after a big move in February 2016 when CSS acquired four other properties in Nashville. The company had sold off a portfolio in the city around ten years before but recently made a return after noticing what a dynamic market it had become.
The last round of acquisitions are located at:

- 702 Jessica St., Murfreesboro, TN 37130
- 200 Front St., Smyrna, TN 37167
- 1022 Nissan Dr., Smyrna, TN 37167
The newest location offers 98,000 rentable square feet and features climate-controlled and drive-up units, electronic access, online payments, covered and open-air RV and boat storage, as well as truck rental and moving supplies. Customers at this CSS location can also use a smartphone app to remotely open the facility’s security gate.
“We are excited about the acquisition of this self storage center, as it will allow us to further expand our service area in the Nashville market,” says President Todd Amsdell. “We will offer a convenient, one-stop shop for the moving and storage needs of the residents and businesses in this area.”
The new CSS acquisition makes 69 self storage properties for the company across the U.S.
