In Dallas-Fort Worth, things are big. There is business, attractions, international travel—all the benefits of that big city life. But sometimes the hustle and bustle of big city life needs a little bit of a break. And that’s where Lewisville comes in.

Located in north-central DFW, Lewisville is a place to get away from big city life, but that doesn’t mean there’s not big things to do here. Here are five things only found in Lewisville.

1. Lewisville Lake leads the way

The city of Lewisville is nestled right alongside a lake of the same name, which is the leading driver in the city being the recreational hub of the Dallas-Fort Worth. The lake is large enough to give everyone a chance to cool off, as well as other recreational opportunities.

For instance, checkout Lake Lewisville Park. While nearby parking does come at a cost, it has everyone from a beach to disc golf to camp grounds for you and other residents to enjoy.

2. After the lake, hit the links in Lewisville

If you’re done with the water, hit the greens. There are nearly a dozen top-rated public courses, but within Lewisville itself, you can enjoy 18-holes on the championship course at Lake Park Golf Club. And if that’s not enough, you can even try out “footgolf” which is almost exactly like it sounds.

3. You have to try these Lewisville restaurants

Any town is proud of its own cuisine, and Lewisville doesn’t let anyone down. For some amazing hot chicken, check out Bae’s Kitchen, they even offer halal options. If you want something a bit more exotic, you gotta go to Maia’s for a delicious Cambodian and Thai options such as the curry and Thai basil.

4. Lewisville is home to Old Town

Old Town Lewisville is the city’s revitalized center for arts, dining, outdoor festivals, history and more. While the city was incorporated in 1925, you can find homes built as far back as the 1890s—all that can be seen on a leisurely stroll. The Lewisville Visitor Information Center offers tours of historic sites, shops, boutiques, restaurants and more.

5. Get lost in the labyrinth

While there is plenty to do outside in Lewisville, there’s things to do indoors too. For instance, locals love Labyrinth Reality Games. Described as an “escape room on steroids,” there are more than a dozen challenges that offers a combination of mental and physical challenges, each with different rooms within them. On top of that, staff have gone to great lengths to maintain a clean and fun environment despite the current coronavirus pandemic.

Now this is just a brief list—is there more things to highlight in Lewisville? Let us know in the comments!
