Talonvest Capital Supports Orange County Ronald McDonald House

The Orange County Ronald McDonald House has found a strong ally for its efforts to improve the health and well-being of children. The charity awarded Talonvest Capital Inc., a boutique self storage and commercial real estate advisor, its Top Corporate Fundraising Award for the second year in a row. Talonvest raised $18,750 for the Ronald McDonald House’s 2016 Walk for Kids fundraiser. The company has now raised $35,675 for the charity over the last four years.

Talonvest is invested in the nonprofit on a personal level. Eric Snyder, a principal at the company, says the Orange County Ronald McDonald House was once there for his family. “I had a personal experience with the Ronald McDonald House when my child fought for her life,” he says. “We were so grateful for the compassion and the services they offered us during our time of need.”

Talonvest not only made a direct annual donation to the Orange County McDonald House, but also rallied clients, capital providers, friends, and families to donate through Walk for Kids, the charity’s largest fundraiser. Talonvest says the fundraiser was successful with the help of firms like Devon Self Storage, Post Management, Stor-All Group, North American Self Storage Group, Clark Investment Group, Wells Fargo, and more.

Talonvest adds that its team “walked the walk” literally and figuratively. Employees didn’t just take part in the Walk for Kids, but also volunteered at the house in Orange County, serving dinners to families. Talonvest also annually sponsors a guest room there, which financially supports families using the room for an entire year.

“Giving back to the community is one of our core values at Talonvest,” says Tom Sherlock, another principal at Talonvest. “We are proud to be involved in a wonderful charity that makes such a meaningful impact on peoples’ lives at such a vulnerable time. The organization provides a ‘home away from home’ and a community where children and their families embrace life and healing with a sense of hope, enthusiasm, courage, and joy.”

Nearly 700 families stayed at the Orange County Ronald McDonald House in 2015. As of this post’s publishing, the charity has only reached 88% of its 2016 goal. Go here to donate.
