Top Self Storage Software Companies to Watch Through 2020

Technavio, a leading global technology research and advisory company, has its eye on software innovators in the self storage industry. The company recently released its list of the top five leading software vendors in the storage market between now and the year 2020. The list names E-SoftSys, QuikStor, SiteLink, Storman, and Yardi as the top vendors.

Technavio says what’s unique about the self storage software market is that it’s highly fragmented with many small and medium-sized companies. Technavio says this creates some big opportunities for mergers and acquisitions with large companies. New players entering the sector will face intense competition.

“Organizations are assessing vendors based on document capture capability of the software and the degree of superiority of their solutions,” says Amrita Choudhury, Lead Enterprise Application Analyst from Technavio.

The list starts with E-SoftSys, headquartered in Montgomery County, Penn. It has a presence in more than 15 countries around the world. E-SoftSys works with customers from an initial vision to design, coding, and quality assurance, followed by deployment to support. It develops specific software for each client after researching their needs. E-SoftSys develops management software for small and large facility operators that streamlines operations and increases efficiency.

QuikStor, based in Los Angeles, Calif., started in 1987. The company offers a range of software, hardware, and video surveillance products to self storage companies all over the world. QuikStor offers four different levels of its product to best meet the needs of its clients. The company’s OnDemand platform also allows users to access tenant information, facility reports, and gate facility from any web browser.

SiteLink, founded in 1996 and headquartered in Raleigh, N.C., has more than 11,000 self storage locations using its software. That makes it the industry’s largest management software provider. Its feature-rich programs offer regular updates, a user-friendly design, and quality service. Its Web Edition also integrates websites, call centers, central mail providers, and a number of other platforms into a client’s system. Other features include revenue management and customer relationship management services, email, and text messaging.

Storman, established in 1992, is based in Auckland, New Zealand. It’s the largest storage management software provider in Australia and New Zealand. Storman offers a flexible licensing structure to suit businesses of all sizes and works with its customers’ suggestions to provide helpful product updates. Storman offers phone, remote access, email, and knowledge-based technical support from its offices in New Zealand, Australia, and England.

Yardi, based in Santa Barbara, Calif., started in 1984. The company offers asset management solutions in addition to property management software. This is actually the first fully cloud-based management software designed just for self storage businesses. The Store Enterprise and Store Advantage applications integrate with websites, corporate offices, call centers, centralized mail services, web aggregators, mobile devices, and other business systems. Its customers range from small storage owners to some of the largest companies in the self storage industry.
