New York-based Storage Made EZ just released Version 2 of its self storage app, hoping to further its relationship with renters through new features. In the first version, renters could lease units, pay bills, call, email, and get directions to the facility. The new app adds some customer service features and allows users to send voice and video notes directly to the store manager.

In a press release, Chelsea Thompson, Senior Manager at Storage Made EZ, says, “We want to give our customers options. With Storage Made EZ Mobile App Version 2, our customers have a new convenient mobile option. We want our customers to save time, have the peace of mind that comes with accessibility, and have fast, efficient access to our office any time they need it.”

Storage Made EZ first launched its app as a way to connect customers to its facility with just a few taps. Travis Harding, Senior Manager at Storage Made EZ, adds that storage businesses need to keep up with modern communication trends and technology.

“Anyone familiar with the self storage market will probably have noticed how most storage businesses rely on desktop, email, and phone communication to provide customer access to the main office,” Harding says. “The problem with traditional customer communication is that most customers are not using it. 70% of our current customers spend most of their web time on a mobile device.”

After working out a few bugs and adding in some other ideas, Storage Made EZ announced Version 2 in December 2015. “We wanted to try something new with Storage Made EZ Mobile App Version 2,” Harding says.

The release says that Storage Made EZ’s application is the first of its kind in Jefferson County, N.Y., to give customers 24-hour access to their storage units with a mobile app. Customers can download the app for free at the Google Play store.

Storage Made EZ started in May 2006. After eight years in the storage industry, the company says it provides the most efficient and cost-effective self storage solution for the military and non-military communities of Fort Drum. The facility is monitored around the clock and is accessible 24 hours a day, seven days a week.
